'Revolutionary' new platform launched by UCC Alumni and Development
UCC Alumni and Development has announced the launch of an exciting interactive marketing campaign for the university’s new alumni engagement platform, UCC Alumni Online.
The innovative campaign is harnessing the power of social media to promote a series of strategic messages and dynamic animated videos which will bring the platform to life and re-connect alumni with their alma mater.
Five well-known UCC graduates, including the founders of athleisure brand Gym+Coffee, are lending their voice to the initiative and will feature in a series of social media testimonials over the coming months.
The objective of the campaign is a ‘call-to-action’ to UCC alumni to register for the platform, which will enable the university to build strong community engagement with this dynamic and important stakeholder group. Currently, there are over 150,000 professional profiles on LinkedIn with an affiliation to UCC.
Speaking about the launch, Kate McSweeney, Director of Communications, UCC Alumni and Development said:
“UCC Alumni Online is a virtual community built for our alumni - connecting them with former classmates, international chapters, exclusive events, career opportunities, ways to support and much more.”
The new platform enables alumni to:
- Make an impact by supporting students, research, teaching and learning
- Get exclusive access to, and register for alumni events
- Access job postings and engage with fellow alumni on message boards
- Support and inspire current UCC students by becoming a mentor
- Connect with international chapters and alumni clubs and groups
- Update your profile and expand your network by searching the Alumni Directory
- Create your account and tap into a global community of more than 200,000 alumni
“We are very grateful for the support of the UCC community in helping us launch this transformative new initiative for the university, which I firmly believe will revolutionise how we engage with our alumni into the future," added Kate.
“Our alumni email dissemination list is now over 100,000 emails. Our strategic digital communications, which are disseminated by this platform, have open rates of c. 40% (industry average is 15%), which demonstrates significant engagement.”
In addition to the marketing campaign for UCC Alumni Online, UCC Alumni and Development are also contacting each graduating class encouraging new graduates to register for the platform.
“We have invited the graduating classes of 2020 to 2007 to create their UCC Alumni Online accounts via a number of strategic email campaigns. These email campaigns will continue over the summer months, inviting the class cohorts of 2006 to 1960,” explained Kate.
