Module Objective: |
Provide participants with a strong foundation in reflective inquiry to examine their mindfulness practice. Give opportunity to reflect on acceptance, mindfulness and committed action in Acceptance and Commitment Training.

Module Content: |
Reflective practice, acceptance and commitment training, nine attitudinal foundations of mindfulness.

Learning Outcome: |
On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:- Define and engage with reflective practice in mindfulness.
- Engage with journal writing.
- Evaluate the function of the nine attitudinal foundations of Mindfulness.
- Critically examine the concepts of acceptance, mindfulness and committed action in Acceptance and Commitment Training.
- Critically review the role of values in ACT.
- Appreciate the ethical considerations involved in Mindfulness.

Assessment: |
Total Marks 100: Continuous Assessment 100 marks (1 x 3,000 word reflective assignment).
|
Compulsory Elements: |
Continuous Assessment. Personal mindfulness practice.
|
Penalties (for late submission of course/project work etc.): |
Where work is submitted up to and including 7 days late, 5% of the total marks available shall be deducted from the mark achieved. Where work is submitted up to and including 14 days late, 10% of the total marks available shall be deducted from the mark achieved. Work submitted 15 days late or more shall be assigned a mark of zero.
