Module Objective: |
Provide students with a comprehensive knowledge of various models, skills and approaches to coaching.

Module Content: |
Person centred coaching, transference and counter transference, goal setting, an integrated approach to coaching.

Learning Outcome: |
On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:- Define and apply person centred coaching skills
- Understand the concepts of transference and counter transference in the coaching relationship
- Define and apply distinct coaching approaches such as gestalt, transactional analysis, existenialist, neuro linguistic programming, solution focused coaching and narrative coaching
- Demonstrate key coaching and listening skills
- Facilitate goal setting and review
- Manage a coaching conversation that demonstrates structure and free flow
- Implement an integrated approach to coaching drawing on appropriate approaches and coaching models.

Assessment: |
Total Marks 100: Continuous Assessment 100 marks (1 x 2,000 word assignment, 80 marks; Online activities, 20 marks).

Compulsory Elements: |
Continuous Assessment. Attendance at lectures.

Penalties (for late submission of course/project work etc.): |
Where work is submitted up to and including 7 days late, 5% of the total marks available shall be deducted from the mark achieved. Where work is submitted up to and including 14 days late, 10% of the total marks available shall be deducted from the mark achieved. Work submitted 15 days late or more shall be assigned a mark of zero.
