Module Objective: |
To apply student's knowledge of coaching in a work context. To learn through practice and supervision. To develop the student's critical writing and thinking skills through using the work placement as a site of inquiry, research and reflection.

Module Content: |
Learning through participation in a work setting, supervision, record keeping, reflective writing, written and oral presentations, ethics in coaching and developmental plan.

Learning Outcome: |
On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:- Present a coaching log of 50 hours of coaching in personal or workplace coaching
- Demonstrate and apply learning from coaching received from a qualified coach
- Critically review their record keeping and reflective writing in relation to individuals or groups that they have coached
- Present written and oral presentations on their experiential learning
- Demonstrate and explain their application of a variety of coaching approaches and techniques within the different modalities of coaching
- Demonstrate accurate reflective and writing skills in capturing their practical coaching work
- Work within an ethical framework
- Participate in supervision and recognise its centrality within the coaching framework
- Present clear learning and development plans to enhance future practice.

Assessment: |
Total Marks 400: Continuous Assessment 400 marks (1 x 4,000 word portfolio, 300 marks; class presentation, 100 marks).

Continuous Assessment.

Penalties (for late submission of course/project work etc.): |
Where work is submitted up to and including 7 days late, 5% of the total marks available shall be deducted from the mark achieved. Where work is submitted up to and including 14 days late, 10% of the total marks available shall be deducted from the mark achieved. Work submitted 15 days late or more shall be assigned a mark of zero.
