GA6036 – Poetry Workshop

A group of MA students visited Corca Dhuibhne recently as part of the module GA6036, a poetry workshop facilitated by Dr Ailbhe Ní Ghearbhuigh. Seán Mac a’ tSíthigh spoke to the students about his experience as a video journalist with RTÉ. He emphasised the importance of celebrating the achievements of local communities in the national news.

Simon Ó Faoláin, file, agus mic léinn MA

Poet and archaeologist, Simon Ó Faoláin, treated the students to a site-specific poetry reading at three locations, Imileá, Teampall na Cluanach and Gallarus. Poet Bríd Ní Mhóráin gave a comprehensive talk about the importance of Saint Brigid and gave examples of the folklore surrounding Naomh Bríd. The students were interviewed by Helen Ní Shé about their experience, which you can be heard here on the RTÉ Radio Player
