The Society for General Microbiology and the Federation of European Microbiological Societies both share a strong committment to facilitating the participation of young scientist candidates in relevant scientific meetings.
SGM Member UG/PG grants.
Undergraduate and Postraduate SGM members may apply for grant support for meeting attendance by submitting an online application directly to SGM before November 9th, 2012. Details of the support scheme are avaialble at http://www.sgm.ac.uk/grants/pg.cfm.
Please note, SGM grant applications should NOT be sent to the conference organiser!
FEMS Society Member grants.
A number of FEMS Young Scientist Meeting Grants (YSMGs) are also available. Awards shall be based on a review of the quality of applications received by the local organising committee. FEMS require that a YSMG candidate be;
- A member of a FEMS society (or be recommended by a FEMS society member)
- Younger than 36 years of age at the closing date of the meeting
- An active Microbiologist &
- A presenting author of an abstract.
