University College, Cork

We, the Governing Body of University College, Cork, under and by virtue of the powers in that behalf conferred on us by the said Act, Do by this present instrument under the Seal of University College, Cork, make the Statute contained in the Schedule hereof for the general government of the said College.

Given under the Common Seal of University College, Cork, this eighteenth day of January, 1972.

Statute LXXXIX.

Schedule

Statutes I. to LXXXVIII. of University College, Cork shall be read and construed with the additions, modifications and amendments hereinafter set forth.

CHAPTER I.
Lectureship in Electrical Engineering, No. 4

1. There shall be established in the College, in the event of its institution by the National University of Ireland, a Lectureship in Electrical Engineering, No. 4.
2. The said lectureship shall be a full-time office within the meaning of the statutes of the College and of the University. The stipend of the Lectureship shall be the same as that provided in Statute LXXXVI., Chapter I., section 6(a)(i). The provisions of Statute LXVII., Chapter IV., as amended, shall also apply to the office.
3. The duties of the Lecturer shall be to lecture in Electrical Engineering under the direction of the Professor of Electrical Engineering for all degrees, diplomas and certificates of the University and for all diplomas and certificates of the College. He shall also examine in Electrical Engineering for the College and, if required by the Senate to do so, for the University. He shall, in addition, discharge such other duties appropriate to the office as shall be assigned to him by the said Professor of Electrical Engineering.
4. The said lectureship shall be a pensionable office to which the previsions of Statute LXXLX., as amended, and the Pension Scheme annexed thereto, as amended, shall apply.

CHAPTER II.
Directorship of the Computer Bureau and
Lectureship in Computer Science

1. Statute LXXXVII., Chapter IV., is hereby amended by the addition of the following section:

   "4. The post of Director of the Computer Bureau shall, for the purposes of granting increments on the salary scale for previous service in the College, be deemed to be equated to the office of full-time professor and Statute LVIII., Chapter I., section 5, shall be read and construed accordingly."

2. This amendment shall be deemed to be operative as and from the date of coming into operation of said Statute LXXXVII.

CHAPTER III.
Increased Stipend - Faculty of Dairy Science

1. Statute LXXXVII., Chapter IX., is hereby amended by the substitution of the reference "Chapter VIII., section 1, of this Statute" for the reference "Chapter VI., section 1, of this Statute."
2. This amendment shall be deemed to be operative as and from the date of coming into operation of said Statute LXXXVII.

CHAPTER IV.

1. This Statute shall be construed with and as part of Statutes I. to LXXXVIII. of University College, Cork and may be cited as Statute LXXXIX. of University College, Cork or Stat. LXXXIX. of Univ. Coll. Cork.
2. This Statute shall come into operation on the eighteenth day of January, 1972.
