Statute LXVI.
Irish Universities Act, 1908
University College, Cork
We, the Governing Body of University College, Cork, under
and by virtue of the powers in that behalf conferred on us by
the said Act, Do by this present instrument under the Seal
of University College, Cork, make the Statute contained in
the Schedule hereof for the general government of the said
College.
Given under the Common Seal of University College, Cork, this twenty-second day of June, 1962.

Statute LXVI.
Schedule
Statutes I. to LXV. of University College, Cork, shall be read
and construed with the additions, modifications and amendments
hereinafter set forth
CHAPTER I.
Scheme for Payment to Widows
Notwithstanding the provisions of Statute XLVII., Chapter II..
Section 1(d), as amended by Statute LII.. Chapter V., Section 1(g).
a further opportunity of participating in said Scheme is hereby
afforded to Joseph Gerard Healy, holder of the part-time Lecture.
ship in Spanish from 1st October 1936, and of the full-time
Lectureship in Spanish from 1st November, 1946, and of the full-time Professorship of Spanish from 13th July, 1961
Provided that the said Joseph Gerard Healy pays into the
appropriate College Pension Fund within one calendar month
of the date of coming into operation of this Statute the contributions amounting to £164-10-0d. which he would have paid had
he availed himself of the provisions of the said Scheme before
28th April, 1949, and that he shall continue henceforth to pay
the appropriate annual contributions provided for under the
Scheme before the twenty-eight day of April in each year and
comply in all other respects with the provisions of the Statutes
regarding the said Scheme for Payments to Widows.
CHAPTER II.
Faculty of Dairy Science
Lectureship in Agriculture
- There shall be established in the College, in the event of its
institution by the National University of Ireland, a Lectureship in
Agriculture.
- The said Lectureship shall be a full-time office within the
meaning of the Statutes of the College and of the University. The
stipend of the Lectureship shall be the same as those provided for
in Statute LXIII., Chapter I., Section 3(f). The provisions of Statute
LVIII., Chapter 1., Sections 5, 6 and 7, and of Chapter III of that
Statute shall also apply to the Office.
- The duties of the Lecturer shall be to lecture in Agriculture
for all Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates of the University and for
all Diplomas and Certificates of the College under the direction of
the Professor of Agriculture. He shall in addition examine in Agriculture for the College and, if required by the Senate to do so for
the University. The Lecturer shall also manage the College Farms
under the Director of College Farms.
- The said Lectureship shall be a pensionable office and
Table A of the Pension Scheme annexed to Statute XXXIX.,
Chapter III., as already amended is hereby further amended by the
addition of the said office thereto..
CHAPTER III.
Faculty of Dairy Science
Lectureship in Dairy Accounting and Dairy Economics
- There shall be established in the College, in the event of its
institution by the National University of Ireland, a Lectureship in
Dairy Accounting and Dairy Economics.
- The said Lectureship shall be a full-time office within the
meaning of the Statutes of the College and of the University. The
stipend of the Lectureship shall be the same as those provided for
in Statute LXIII., Chapter I., Section 3 (f). The provisions of
Statute LVIII., Chapter 1., Sections 5, 6 and 7, and of Chapter III.
of that Statute shall also apply to the Office.
- The duties of the Lecturer shall be to lecture in Dairy
Accounting and Dairy Economics for all Degrees, Diplomas and
Certificates of the University and for all Diplomas and Certificates
of the College under the direction of the Professor of' Dairy
Accounting and Dairy Economics. He shall in addition examine in
Dairy Accounting and Dairy Economics for the College and, if
required by the Senate to do so, for the University. The duties shall
be principally in Dairy Economics.
- The said Lectureship shall be a pensionable office and Table
A of the Pension Scheme annexed to Statute XXXIX., Chapter
III., as already amended, is hereby further amended by the addition of the said office thereto.
CHAPTER IV.
Faculty of Dairy Science
Lectureship in Dairy and Food Microbiology
- There shall be established in the College, in the event of its
institution by the National University of Ireland, a Lectureship in
Dairy and Food Microbiology.
- The said Lectureship shall be a full-time office within the
meaning of the Statutes of the College and of the University. The
stipend of the Lectureship shall be the same as those provided for
in Statute LXIII., Chapter I., Section 3 (f). The provisions of
Statute LVIII., Chapter I., Sections 5, 6 and 7, and of Chapter III.
of that Statute shall also apply to the Office.
- The duties of the Lecturer shall be to lecture in Dairy and
Food Microbiology for all Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates of
the University and for all Diplomas and Certificates of the College
under the direction of the Professor of Dairy and Food Microbiology. He shall in addition examine in Dairy and Food Microbiology for the College and, if required by the Senate to do so, for
the University.
- The said Lectureship shall be a pensionable office and Table
A of the Pension Scheme annexed to Statute XXXIX., Chapter III.,
as already amended, is hereby further amended by the addition of
the said office thereto.
CHAPTER V.
Faculty of Dairy Science
Lectureship in Dairy Engineering
- There shall be established in the College, in the event of its
institution by the National University of Ireland, a Lectureship in
Dairy Engineering.
- The said Lectureship shall be a full-time office within the
meaning of the Statutes of the College and of the University. The
stipend of the Lectureship shall be the same as those provided for
in Statute LXIII., Chapter I., Section 3 (f). The provisions of
Statute LVIII., Chapter 1., Sections 5, 6 and 7, and of Chapter III.
of that Statute shall also apply to the Office.
- The duties of the Lecturer shall be to lecture in Dairy
Engineering for all Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates of the
University and for all Diplomas and Certificates of the College
under the direction of the Professor of Dairy Engineering. He shall
in addition examine in Dairy Engineering for the College and, if
required by the Senate to do so, for the University.
- The said Lectureship shall be a pensionable office and Table
A of the Pension Scheme annexed to Statute XXXIX., Chapter III.,
as already amended, is hereby further amended by the addition of
the said office thereto.
CHAPTER VI.
Faculty of Dairy Science
Lectureship in Dairy Technology, No. 1
- There shall be established in the College, in the event of its
institution by the National University of Ireland, a Lectureship in
Dairy Technology, No. 1.
- The said Lectureship shall be a full-time office within the
meaning of the Statutes of the College and of the University. The
stipend of the Lectureship shall be the same as those provided for
in Stature LXIII., Chapter 1., Section 3 (f). The provisions of
Statute LVIII., Chapter 1., Sections 5, 6 and 7, and of Chapter III.
of that Statute shall also apply to the Office.
- The duties of the Lecturer shall be to lecture in Dairy
Technology for all Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates of the
University and for all Diplomas and Certificates of the College
under the direction of the Professor of Dairy Technology. He shall
in addition examine in Dairy Technology for the College and, if
required by the Senate to do so, for the University. The Lecturer
shall also supervise all courses of practical training when required
to do so by the Professor.
- The said Lectureship shall be a pensionable office and Table
A of the Pension Scheme annexed to Statute XXXIX., Chapter
III., as already amended, is hereby further amended by the addition
of the said office thereto.
CHAPTER VII.
Faculty of Dairy Science
Lectureship in Dairy Technology, No. 2
- There shall be established in the College, in the event of its
institution by the National University of Ireland, a Lectureship in
Dairy Technology, No. 2.
- The said Lectureship shall be a full-time office within the
meaning of the Statutes of the College and of the University. The
stipend of the Lectureship shall be the same as those provided for
in Statute LXIII., Chapter I., Section 3 (f). The provisions at
Statute LVIII., Chapter I., Sections 5, 6 and 7, and of Chapter III.
of that Statute shall also apply to the Office.
- The duties of the Lecturer shall be to lecture in Dairy Technology for all Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates of the University
and for all Diplomas and Certificates of the College under the
direction of the Professor of Dairy Technology. He shall in addition
examine in Dairy Technology for the College and, if required by
the Senate to do so, for the University. The Lecturer shall also
supervise all courses of practical training when required to do so
by the Professor.
- The said Lectureship shall be a pensionable office and Table
A of the Pension Scheme annexed to Statute XXXIX., Chapter III.,
as already amended, is hereby further amended by the addition of
the said office thereto.
The Lectureships established by this Statute shall be tenable for
the same term and upon the same conditions and the holders thereof shall be subject to the same duties and obligations as if the
said Lectureships had been included in Statutes I. to LXV. at
University College, Cork.
- This Statute shall be construed with and as part of Statutes I.
to LXV. of University College, Cork, and may be cited as Statute
LXVI. of University College, Cork, or Stat. LXVI. of Univ. Coll.,
Cork.
- This statute shall come into operation on the twenty-second
day of June, 1962.
Present when the Common Seal of University College, Cork,
was affixed.
