Irish Universities Act, 1908

University College, Cork

We, the Governing Body of University College, Cork, under and by virtue of the powers in that behalf conferred on us by the said Act, Do by this present instrument under the Seal of University College, Cork, make the Statute contained in the Schedule hereof for the general government of the said College.

Given under the Common Seal of University College, Cork, this thirtieth day of January, 1959.

Statute LXII.

Schedule

Statutes I. to LXI. of University College, Cork, shall be read and construed with the additions, modifications and amendments hereinafter set forth.

CHAPTER I.
Professorship of Geography

1. There shall be established in the College, in the event of its institution by the Senate of the National University of Ireland, a Professorship of Geography.
2. The said Professorship shall be a full-time office within the meaning of the Statutes of the College and of the University. The stipend of the Professorship shall be the same as those Provided for in Statute LVIII., Chapter I., Section 3 (b). The provisions of Chapter I., Sections 5, 6 and 7, and of Chapter III. of that Statute shall also apply to the office.
3. The duties of the Professor shall be to lecture and examine in Geography for all Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates of the College and of the University.
4. The said Professorship shall be a pensionable office, and Table A of the Additional Pension Scheme annexed to Statute XXXIX., Chapter II., as already amended, is hereby further amended by the addition of the said office thereto.
5. The said Professorship shall be in substitution for the existing Lectureship in Geography established by Statute XLII., Chapter I., as amended, which Lectureship shall be abolished if the present holder is appointed to the Professorship hereby established or ceases by resignation or otherwise to hold office. Statute XLII., Chapter I., as amended, shall, on the occurrence of either of such events, be revoked.
6. The said Professorship shall be tenable for the same term and upon the same conditions and the holder thereof shall be subject to the same duties and obligations as if the said Professorship had been included in Statutes I. to LXI. of University College, Cork.

CHAPTER II.
Professorship of Dairy and Food Microbiology

The Professorship of Dairy Bacteriology established by Statute XXXVIII., Chapter 1., shall henceforth be styled:
Professorship of Dairy and Food Microbiology
and all references to "Dairy Bacteriology" in Statute XXXVIII; and subsequent Statutes shall be read and construed as referring to "Dairy and Food Microbiology."

The duties of the holder of the Professorship shall be to lecture and examine in Dairy and/or Food Microbiology for all Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates of the College and of the University.

CHAPTER III.
Faculty of Science

Statute XXVII., Chapter II., as already amended, is hereby further amended by the addition of the subject Anatomy to the Faculty of Science.

CHAPTER IV.

1. This Statute shall be construed with and as part of Statutes I. to LXI. of University College, Cork, and may he cited as Statute LXII. of University College, Cork, or Stat. LXII. of Univ. Coll., Cork.
2. This Statute shall come into operation on the twenty-seventh day of January, 1959.
