University College, Cork

We, the Governing Body of University College, Cork, under and by virtue of the powers in that behalf conferred on us by the said Act, Do by this present instrument under the Seal of University College, Cork, make the Statute contained in the Schedule hereof for the general government of the said College.

Statute 164.

Schedule

Statutes 1 to 163 of University College, Cork shall be read and construed with the additions, modifications and amendments hereinafter set forth.

CHAPTER I.
Increased Stipends

1. Notwithstanding any provision to the contrary contained in Statute 1 to 163 of University College, Cork, the annual stipends of the President, Professorships, Lectureships and Officers of the College, referred to in this Chapter, shall, as from the dates specified, be increased as hereinafter set forth.
2. • (a). The annual stipend of each full-time Associate Professor, with the exception of any Associate Professor in a clinical dental subject, shall be increased by 18.5%.
   • (b) The annual stipend of each full-time Lecturer, with the exception of any Lecturer in a clinical dental subject, shall be increased by 18.5%.
   • (c) The foregoing increases shall be payable in installments as follows: 40% of said increases as from 1 May, 1991; 30% of said increases as from 1 March, 1992; 30% of said increases as from 1 September, 1992.
3. • (a) The annual stipends of the President, of the full-time Professors and full-time Lecturers and of the full-time Officers of the College shall be increased, as from 1 January, 1992, by IR£261 per annum; as from 1 December, 1992, by 3% less IR£261 per annum, and, as from 1 January, 1993, by IR£339 per annum.
   • (b) The deduction referred to in Statute 132, Chapter I., section 2(b) and the additional amount referred to in Statute 136, Chapter I., section 5(b), as already increased, shall be further increased, as from 1 December, 1992, by 3%.
4. The annual stipend of each of the part-time Offices of Vice- President shall be increased, as from 1 January, 1992, by IR£26 per annum; as from 1 December, 1992, by 3% less IR£26 per annum, and as from 1 January, 1993, by IR£34 per annum.

CHAPTER II.
Academic Council

Statute 1, Chapter X., section 3, is hereby replaced by the following:

"3. Twenty Members of the Academic Council present at a Meeting shall form a quorum. If in the course of a meeting the number of Members present falls below twenty, the objection of any one of the Members present to the taking of a vote shall render such a vote invalid".

CHAPTER III.
Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics

The Department of Clinical Pharmacology shall henceforth be known as the "Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics".

CHAPTER IV.
Pension Scheme

Statute 79, Chapter I., section 2, as already amended, is hereby further amended by the addition thereto of the following:

"Provided that, in the case of a participant who is a full-time Professor or full-time Associate Professor or full-time Lecturer in a clinical medical subject, a pension contribution as specified in the participant's terms of appointment or employment shall be payable by the participant".

CHAPTER V.

1. This Statute shall be construed with and as part of Statutes 1 - 163 of University College, Cork and may be cited as Statute 164 of University College, Cork or Stat. 164 of Univ. Coll. Cork.
2. This Statute will come into operation on the thirteenth day of April, 1993.
