University College, Cork

We, the Governing Body of University College, Cork, under and by virtue of the powers in that behalf conferred on us by the said Act, Do by this present instrument under the Seal of University College, Cork, make the Statute contained in the Schedule hereof for the general government of the said College.

Given under the Common Seal of University College, Cork, this twenty-second day of January, 1985.

Statute CXXXVII.

Schedule

Statutes I. to CXXXVI. of University College, Cork shall be read and construed with the additions, modifications and amendments hereinafter set forth.

CHAPTER I.
Part-time Lectureships in Accounting

1. There shall be established in the College, in the event of their institution by the National University of Ireland, the following two part-time Lectureships:

   Lectureship in Accounting No. 4

   Lectureship in Accounting No. 5

2. The said Lectureships shall be part-time non-pensionable offices. The Governing Body, having determined the quantum of duties to be attached to each of the Lectureships, shall also determine annually the level of stipend to be attached to each of the offices, provided that the total of the two stipends shall not exceed sixty per cent. of the maximum stipend of a full-time Lectureship, as set forth in Statute CXXXII., Chapter I., section 7 (a) as subsequently amended.
3. The duties of each of the Lecturers shall be to lecture in Accounting. under the direction of the Professor of Accounting, for all degrees. diplomas and certificates of the University and for all diplomas and certificates of the College. They shall also examine in Accounting for the College and, if required by the Senate to do so, for the University. They shall, in addition, discharge such other duties appropriate to the offices as shall be assigned to them by the said Professor of Accounting.
4. The part-time Lectureships hereby established shall be ten- able for the same term and upon the same conditions and the holders thereof shall be subject to the same duties and obligations as if the said part-time Lectureships had been included in Statutes I. to CXXXVI., of University College, Cork.

CHAPTER II.
Abolition of Part-time Lectureship

The part-time Lectureship in Accounting and Business Administration established by Statute XLIX., Chapter I., is hereby abolished.

CHAPTER III.
Pension Scheme - Purchase of Notional Pensionable Service

Statute CXXXVI., Chapter III., section 3, is hereby amended by the substitution of the words "periodical deductions" for the words "monthly deductions."

CHAPTER IV.

1. This Statute shall be construed with and as part of Statutes I., to CXXXVI. of University College, Cork and may be cited as Statute CXXXVII. of University College, Cork or Stat. CXXXVII. of Univ. Coll. Cork.
2. This Statute shall come into operation on the twenty-second day of January, 1985.
