We, the Governing Body of University College, Cork, under and by virtue of the powers in that behalf conferred on us by the said Act, Do by this present instrument under the Seal of University College, Cork, make the Statute contained in the Schedule hereof for the general government of the said College.

Statutes I. to CXXXV. of University College, Cork shall be read and construed with the additions, modifications and amendments hereinafter set forth.
Notwithstanding any provisions to the contrary contained in Statutes I. to CXXXV. of University College, Cork, the annual stipends of the President, of the Professorships and Lectureships referred to in this Chapter and of the Officers of the College shall, subject to the provisions of sections 4, 5 and 6 of this Chapter, be increased as from the dates specified and as hereinafter set forth.
(a) The said stipends as already provided in these statues shall be increased as from 1 September, 1983, by 4.75% and shall be further increased as from 1 February, 1984, by 3.25%.
(b) The foregoing increases shall be subject to and calculated in accordance with the provisions of the Agreement on Public Service Pay dated July, 1983, between the Public Services Committee of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions and the Minister for the Public Service.
The deductions referred to in Statute CXXXII., Chapter I., section 2(b) shall, as from 1 September. 1983, be IR£2,596 and as from 1 February, 1984, be IR£2,680.
(a) The annual stipend of a full-time Professor or a full-time Lecturer to whom the provisions of Statute CXXVIII., Chapter I., section 6(a) apply shall, as from 1 June, 1981, be IR£10,610 in the case of a Professor and shall be IR£4,774 in the case of a Lecturer.
(b) The said stipends shall be subject to the increases provided in Statute CXXXII., Chapter I., section 2(a) and also to the increases provided in section 2(a) of this Chapter.
(c) The annual stipend of a full-time Associate Professor to whom the provisions of Statute CXXVIII., Chapter I., section 6(a) apply shall, as from 1 March, 1982, be IR£10,238; said stipend shall as from 1 October, 1982, be increased by 5% and shall also be subject to the increases provided in section 2(a) of this Chapter.
(d) The annual stipend of the part-time Professorship of Neo-natal Paediatrics shall, as from 1 June, 1981, be IR£5,836; said stipend shall be subject to the increases provided in Statute CXXXII., Chapter I., section 2(a) and in section 2 of this Chapter.
(a) The provisions of this section apply to the holders of Professorships and Lectureships who are registered medical practitioners and who are required to carry out duties of a clinical nature.
(b) On it being determined by the Governing Body that duties of a clinical nature are being carried out, said holders shall each be entitled to receive, in addition to the stipend provided in these statutes, an additional amount of IR£2,000 per annum as from 1 October, 1981; the said amount shall be subject to the increases provided in Statute CXXXII., Chapter I., section 2(a) and in section 2(a) of this Chapter.
(a) The annual stipend of the part-time Office and Professorships referred to in Statute CXXXII., Chapter I., sections 10 and 11(a) shall be subject to the increases provided in Statute CXXXII., Chapter I., section 2(a) and in section 2(a) of this Chapter.
(b) The annual stipend of each of the part-time Lectureships set out in this section shall as from 1 October, 1980, be as set out:

(c) Said annual stipends shall be increased by 7% as from 1 June, 1981, and shall be subject to the increases provided in Statute CXXXII., Chapter I., section 2(a) and in section 2(a) of this Chapter.
(d) Notwithstanding the foregoing provisions, the annual stipend of the part-time Lectureship in Public Administration shall, as from 1 October, 1981, be IR£1,000 per annum; said stipend shall be subject to the increases provided in Statute CXXXII., Chapter I., section 2(a) and in section 2(a) of this Chapter.
Statute LXVII., Chapter IV, section 2, as already amended, is hereby further amended to the extent that the amount of the children's allowances, as from 1 September, 1983, be IR£110 per annum.
The Governing Body may adopt a Scheme for the purchase of Notional Pensionable Service on such terms and conditions as it deems fit, subject to the provisions of this Chapter.
The Scheme shall enable participants in the Pension Scheme to purchase notional pensionable service provided they are eligible under the terms and conditions of the Scheme.
Participants who opt for the Scheme will be required to pay additional contributions by way of monthly deductions from salary or by way of lump-sum payment; no contributions to the Scheme will be payable by the College.
The Scheme shall be deemed to commence on 1 July, 1984.
The Scheme shall be deemed to be part of the Pension Scheme established by and annexed to Statute LXXIX., as amended.
This Statute shall be construed with and as part of Statutes I. to CXXXV. of University College, Cork and may be cited as Statute CXXXVI. of University College, Cork or Stat. CXXXVI. of Univ. Coll. Cork.
This Statute shall come into operation on the twenty-fourth day of April, 1984.
