Statute CXXXVI.

Irish Universities Act, 1908

University College, Cork

We, the Governing Body of University College, Cork, under and by virtue of the powers in that behalf conferred on us by the said Act, Do by this present instrument under the Seal of University College, Cork, make the Statute contained in the Schedule hereof for the general government of the said College.

Given under the Common Seal of University College, Cork, this twenty-fourth day of April, 1984.

Statute CXXXVI.

Schedule

Statutes I. to CXXXV. of University College, Cork shall be read and construed with the additions, modifications and amendments hereinafter set forth.

CHAPTER I.
Increased Stipends

  1. Notwithstanding any provisions to the contrary contained in Statutes I. to CXXXV. of University College, Cork, the annual stipends of the President, of the Professorships and Lectureships referred to in this Chapter and of the Officers of the College shall, subject to the provisions of sections 4, 5 and 6 of this Chapter, be increased as from the dates specified and as hereinafter set forth.

  2. The deductions referred to in Statute CXXXII., Chapter I., section 2(b) shall, as from 1 September. 1983, be IR£2,596 and as from 1 February, 1984, be IR£2,680.

CHAPTER II.
Children's Allowances

Statute LXVII., Chapter IV, section 2, as already amended, is hereby further amended to the extent that the amount of the children's allowances, as from 1 September, 1983, be IR£110 per annum.

CHAPTER III.
Pension Scheme - Purchase of Notional Pensionable Service

  1. The Governing Body may adopt a Scheme for the purchase of Notional Pensionable Service on such terms and conditions as it deems fit, subject to the provisions of this Chapter.

  2. The Scheme shall enable participants in the Pension Scheme to purchase notional pensionable service provided they are eligible under the terms and conditions of the Scheme.

  3. Participants who opt for the Scheme will be required to pay additional contributions by way of monthly deductions from salary or by way of lump-sum payment; no contributions to the Scheme will be payable by the College.

  4. The Scheme shall be deemed to commence on 1 July, 1984.

  5. The Scheme shall be deemed to be part of the Pension Scheme established by and annexed to Statute LXXIX., as amended.

CHAPTER IV.

  1. This Statute shall be construed with and as part of Statutes I. to CXXXV. of University College, Cork and may be cited as Statute CXXXVI. of University College, Cork or Stat. CXXXVI. of Univ. Coll. Cork.

  2. This Statute shall come into operation on the twenty-fourth day of April, 1984.
