Statute CXXVI.
Irish Universities Act, 1908
University College, Cork
We, the Governing Body of University College, Cork, under
and by virtue of the powers in that behalf conferred on us by
the said Act, Do by this present instrument under the Seal
of University College, Cork, make the Statute contained in
the Schedule hereof for the general government of the said
College.
Given under the Common Seal of University College, Cork, this eighteenth day of November, 1980.

Statute CXXVI.
Schedule
Statutes I. to CXXV. of University College, Cork shall be read and
construed with the additions, modifications and amendments hereinafter set forth.
CHAPTER I.
Professorship of Neo-Natal Paediatrics
- There shall be established in the College, in the event of its
institution by the National University of Ireland, a Professorship of
Neo-Natal Paediatrics.
- The said professorship shall be a part-time, non-pensionable
office. The stipend of such part-time professorship shall be £2,787 per
annum.
- The holder of the part-time professorship shall be the present
holder of the Lectureship in Paediatrics established by Statute XCI.,
Chapter V., who shall hold the part-time professorship in conjunction
with the office of Lectureship.
- The said professorship shall be abolished when the first holder
thereof ceases by resignation or otherwise to hold the said professorship.
- Neo-Natal Paediatrics shall be deemed to be included in the
Department of Paediatrics under the general direction of the Professor
of Paediatrics.
- The said professorship shall be tenable for the same term and
upon the same conditions and the holder of the office shall be subject
to the same duties and obligations as if the said professorship had been
included in Statutes I. to CXXV. of University College, Cork.
CHAPTER II.
Faculty of Dairy Science
Lectureship in Dairy and Food Economics
- The lectureship in Dairy Economics, established by Statute
LXVI., Chapter III., as amended by Statute LXVII., Chapter XI.,
is hereby abolished.
- There shall be established in the College, in the event of its
institution by the National University of Ireland, a lectureship in
Dairy and Food Economics.
- The said lectureship shall be a full-time office within the
meaning of the Statutes of the College and of the University. The
stipend of the lectureship shall be the same as that provided in
Statute CIX., Chapter I., section 6(a), as amended.
- The duties of the lecturer shall be to lecture in Dairy and Food
Economies, including Dairy and Food Management and Marketing,
under the direction of the professor of Dairy and Food Economies, for
all degrees, diplomas and certificates of the University and for all
diplomas and certificates of the College. He shall also examine in
Dairy and Food Economics, including Dairy and Food Management
and Marketing, for the College and, if required by the Senate to do so,
for the University.
- The said lectureship shall be a pensionable office to which the
provisions of Statute LXXIX., as amended, and the pension scheme
annexed thereto, as amended, shall apply.
- The said lectureship shall be tenable for the same term and
upon the same conditions and the holder thereof shall be subject to the
same duties and obligations as if the said lectureship had been included
in Statutes I. to CXXV. of University College, Cork.
CHAPTER III.
Children's Allowances
Statute LXVII., Chapter IV., section 2, as already amended, is
hereby further amended to the extent that the amount of the children's
allowances, as from 1 March, 1980, be £104 per annum in respect of
each qualified child.
- This Statute shall be construed with and as part of Statutes I.,
to CXXV. of University College, Cork and may be cited as Statute
CXXVI. of University College, Cork or Stat. CXXVI. of Univ. Coll.
Cork.
- This Statute shall come into operation on the eighteenth day
of November, 1980.
Present when the Common Seal of University College, Cork,
was affixed.
