We, the Governing Body of University College, Cork, under and by virtue of the powers in that behalf conferred on us by the said Act, Do by this present instrument under the Seal of University College, Cork, make the Statute contained in the Schedule hereof for the general government of the said College.

Statutes I. to CXXI. of University College, Cork shall be read and construed with the additions, modifications and amendments hereinafter set forth.
There shall be established in the College, in the event of their institution by the National University of Ireland, nine associate professorships (untitled) as set out in the table hereunder, in the faculties, departments and subjects which shall be assigned as the Governing Body shall decide from time to time.

The said associate professorships shall be full-time offices within the meaning of the statutes of the College and of the University. The stipend of each of the associate professorships shall be the same as that set out in Statute CIX., Chapter 1., section 4(c), as amended.
The duties of each of the associate professors shall be to lecture in the subject assigned by the Governing Body under the Professor or the Head of the Department designated by the Governing Body.
Those eligible for appointment to the associate professorships hereby established shall be the holders of lectureships. On an appointment to one of the said associate professorships, the lectureship thereby vacated shall remain vacant until a vacancy shall have occurred in the associate professorship.
Notwithstanding any provisions to the contrary contained in this or any other statute, the said associate professors shall not be eligible for appointment as Deputy to the President or as Acting President of the College.
The said associate professorships shall be pensionable offices to which the provisions of Statute LXXIX., as amended, and the Pension Scheme annexed thereto, shall apply.
The associate professorships hereby established shall be tenable for the same term and upon the same conditions and the holders thereof shall be subject to the same duties and obligations as if the said associate professorships had been included in Statutes I. to CXCI. of University College, Cork.
This Statute shall be construed with and as part of Statutes I. to CXXI. of University College, Cork and may be cited as Statute CXXII. of University College, Cork or Stat. CXXII. of Univ. Coll. Cork.
This Statute shall come into operation on the twenty-second day of May, 1979.
