UCC and the College of Medicine and Health Graduate Studies is delighted to announce a new PhD Scholarship programme. Please read on to find out more.
Employment-based PhD Programme Scholarships
The Employment-Based PhD Programme Scholarship is a new initiative from University College Cork (UCC), Ireland, offering an exciting opportunity to conduct research within the workplace as an employee with the support of the employment partner and UCC.
As part of this initiative, 5 scholarships are being offered within the College of Medicine and Health. Scholarships will fund annual fees PLUS €5,000 per annum if full time or €2,500 per annum if part time for associated research costs.
The Employment-based PhD can be taken over 4-years (full-time) or 8-years (part-time). The PhD candidate remains a salaried employee with their employer and is concurrently registered as a PhD student at UCC for the duration of the PhD project. An employment partner can be a healthcare organisation, a business, company/industry, higher education institution, registered charity, social, cultural or not-for-profit civic organisation or semi-state commercial organisation. The employment partner must be financially independent of the University and be willing to provide supports such as facilities relevant to the PhD project, a mentor/supervisor to work with academic supervisors at UCC, and dedicated research time for their employee.
Click Employment Based PhD Scholarships for full details of the scholarship criteria for application, application process, assessment criteria, and named contact personnel for further enquiries.
The deadline for submission of application is Wednesday 30th September 2020 by 5pm.
