CK 201: BComm (Hons) (Bachelor of Commerce)


This is a general business degree.  The first and second years of the programme cover a wide range of business subjects.  In third year you will learn a range of transferable skills and may have the opportunity to study in America, undertake a major business project or work placement. 

Criteria for selection include an assessment of the candidate's ability to benefit from, and to undertake, the programme. Experience and educational background are taken into account. An aptitude for Mathematics is beneficial.

CK 202: BSc (Hons) (Accounting)

This programme is designed primarily for students who intend to become accountants, but will also appeal to those wishing to enter general business areas.  The programme combines business, accounting and finance subjects.  There is a work placement in third year. Professional exams must be taken after the degree to become an accountant.

Criteria as for CK201. Candidates should have studied to Leaving Certificate or equivalent. A good standard of English would be an advantage. An aptitude for Mathematics (normally Leaving Certificate ordinary level) is desirable.

CK 203: BSc (Hons) (Business Information Systems)

This is a business computing programme. It is designed to blend technology and business subjects to offer students the ability to understand and exploit leading edge technology in a global business environment. The programme features six months business experience at the end of third year.

Criteria as for CK201.  In addition, an aptitude for Mathematics (normally Leaving Certificate ordinary level ) is required for this programme.

If you are interested in Finance, stocks and shares, business valuation and international money markets then this programme is for you. The programme includes the study of business economics and finance to prepare you for a career in the Financial Markets/Financial Services Sector. Six months are spent on work placement in third year.

The third year of the programme is spent at a third level institution in Austria or Germany studying business subjects. Some institutions in Austria also offer the opportunity of a work placement.
