Routes to UCC
You can apply for entry to most of our Undergraduate programmes via three routes:
Mature Student Entry Route – 23 or over on 01 January of year of entry, with specific entry requirements that you will find HERE.
QQI/FE Entry Route – Based on your results after successfully completing a QQI Level 5 or 6 course in a College of Further Education. The course must be linked and you must achieve a specific result. Further details can be found HERE.
Leaving Certificate Route – Based on your points that you achieved in the Leaving Certificate
A student can apply under all three routes in the one CAO application. You just need to tick the relevant boxes in the Qualifications and Assessment Section of the CAO application form. Further details on this can be found HERE.

QQI/FE Pre-entry Courses
Before deciding to take on a degree it can be extremely beneficial to undertake a Further Education and Training (FET) programme. There are excellent courses available under the QQI/FE scheme and these can be found across the country. Below are links to some of the colleges providing these courses and where a number of our current and past students started out.
