- Student Email / Umail : Your life long UCC Student email account
- Canvas: An online learning environment available to all staff and students in UCC

- Printing Information : All the available print locations on campus
- Your timetable : Keep up to date wth the latest version of your timetable

To log on to the computers in the Mathematical Sciences labs, use your ucc student number as the username, and use your current UCC email password as the password.
If you have any issues with your student email password, please call to the student helpdesk in the Boole library: https://www.ucc.ie/en/is/services/studenthelpdesk or see password reset option at: https://www.ucc.ie/en/sit/
Email it.maths@ucc.ie if you have any other IT related queries.
If you do not have access to email, please call to the School of Mathematical Sciences Admin Office with your query.

- Once you have your UCC staff ID, please contact the School Manager to obtain your UCC Email credentials: 021-4205818.
- You may access your email at: https://email.ucc.ie
- If you wish to add your own device (eg: laptop) to the wired network, please ensure that the operating system and all anti virus software is up to date.
- Ensure that you are listed correctly in : https://www.ucc.ie/en/matsci/people/
- Contact iris@ucc.ie and ask for credentials for : https://iris.ucc.ie This allows you to edit a web page for yourself similar to: http://publish.ucc.ie/researchprofiles/D019/bhanzon.
- Ensure that you are on the School email list.
- We can advise you on PC purchase if you have a grant for same. The preferred supplier is Dell. This includes a 5 year ProSupport and Next Business Day On-Site Service warranty.
- We will set you up onto our shared printers and scanners.

Home Software Help
To Install R [Windows Users] :
- Open an internet browser and go to www.r-project.org.
- Click the "download R" link in the middle of the page under "Getting Started."
- Select a CRAN location (a mirror site) and click the corresponding link.
- Click on the "Download R for Windows" link at the top of the page.
- Click on the "install R for the first time" link at the top of the page.
- Click "Download R for Windows" and save the executable file somewhere on your computer. Run the .exe file and follow the installation instructions.
- Now that R is installed, you may wish to download and install RStudio.
To Install RStudio [Windows Users]:
- Click on https://rstudio.com/products/rstudio/download/#download and select the the "Download RStudio For Windows" button.
- Click on "Download RStudio Desktop."
- Save the executable file. Run the .exe file and follow the installation instructions.
To Install R [Mac Users]:
- Open an internet browser and go to www.r-project.org.
- Click the "download R" link in the middle of the page under "Getting Started."
- Select a CRAN location (a mirror site) and click the corresponding link.
- Click on the "Download R for (Mac) OS X" link at the top of the page.
- Click on the file containing the latest version of R under "Files."
- Save the .pkg file, double-click it to open, and follow the installation instructions.
- Now that R is installed, you may wish to download and install RStudio below.
To Install RStudio [Mac Users]:
- Go to https://rstudio.com/products/rstudio/download/#download
- Scroll down to the mac os version and save the dmg file on your computer.
- Double-click the dmg file to open, and then drag and drop it to your applications folder.
