Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL)

In response to specific recommendations in the quality review report for the Department of Italian, it is proposed to investigate how computers can be used to enhance the teaching and learning of languages and to undertake a pilot project on Computer Assisted Language Learning with the Department.Much work as been done, particularly in the UK, in developing systems in this area.

A working group has been set-up with the Italian Department to investigate CALL systems.Implementation of such a system in the Department (2006/2007) along with increasing awareness of CALL technology among the other language departments in UCC is part of this project.
