The Faculty extends its congratulations to four of our PhD students who have been awarded prestigious government scholarships by the Irish Research Council for the Humanities and Social Sciences (IRCHSS) and the Office of the Minister for Children.
Seán Butler, Anna Marie Brennan, Katherine Wade and Niall Harte (pictured here with the Director of Graduate Studies, Dr Conor O'Mahony (left)) have all been awarded prestigious IRCHSS Scholarships in 2012.
Seán Butler is researching the extent to which international law imposes a responsibility to protect civilians from war crimes and other atrocities, under the supervision of Dr Siobhan Wills.
Anna Marie Brennan is researching the scope for transnational armed groups to be held accountable under international law, under the supervision of Dr Fiona Donson and Dr Siobhan Wills.
Katherine Wade is researching the legal regulation of clinical trials conducted on children, under the supervision of Professor Ursula Kilkelly and Dr Deirdre Madden.
Niall Harte is researching the privacy and data protection implications of geographical location data collection by smart phones, tablets and laptop devices, under the supervision of Professor Maeve McDonagh.
