Software Sessions 2020

What is Software Sessions?

Software Sessions is a new mini-series of informational overview presentations  facilitated by IT Services Training Centre, designed to help staff get the most out of their software and Office365 accounts.

Please note that these are not hands-on training courses, they are informal overviews designed to provide an introductary overview of the topics. Training in each topic can then be taken either via our online training or classroom training, depending on which topic you are looking for training in.

When and where?

All of the sessions will take place at the same time and place over the course of six Thursdays (full schedule below).

Location: Boole Library Creative Zone

Time: 11:30 - 12:30.

How do I sign up?

Please click here to complete the expression of interest form.  This will give us an indication of numbers.

Sign up is not required - these sessions are completely free and drop-ins are welcomed.

The sessions topics and dates will be as follows:




O365 overview & OneDrive  

23rd January 2020 

 This first session will provide an overview of what Office365 and cloud storage is, as well as the benefits to using OneDrive to store and protect your data.

NAS/OneDrive & Teams  

30th January 2020  

This session will explore the various types of data storage options available to users, including network storage with NAS, individual data storage on OneDrive and group data storage with Teams.

Word & Excel  

6th February 2020 

This session will look at tips and tricks from Word and Excel, intended to enhance your usage of these programs, including Word and Excel online in Office365!

O365 overview & Forms   

13th February 2020 

This session will repeat the Office365 overview, as well as looking at how Microsoft Forms works and is integrated with Office365 and Excel Online.

Forms & Pivot Tables  

20th February 2020 

As a follow up to the previous session, this session will revisit Microsoft Forms and take things one step further with an exploration of how you can use Pivot Tables to better understand the data you acquire through your forms.

O365 overview & Teams  

27th February 2020  

This final session of the series will repeat the Office365 overview and how Teams is integrated into Office365. It will also explore what Teams is for, the benefits of using it, and what purposes it is best suited for.
