Google Drive

Google Drive is a cloud storage solution that enables you to create and store documents online.  You can store documents, spreadsheets, photos or any other type of files here, and access them easily from any web enabled device.  This service also allows for collaboration between UCC staff, students and external users.  All UCC staff and students have a Google Drive and can access it using their UCC email address and password.  With Google Drive, your files are stored in the cloud and not on your computer hard drive which allows you to access your documents anywhere, anytime and from any device once you have an internet connection.

What benefits does this service provide?

Anywhere, Anytime, Any Device Access

Google Drive is web based so you can use it on any device and access your files anytime as long as you have an internet connection.  You no longer need to use local file storage on your computer hard drive or a USB drive.  You can conveniently access your files on Google Drive anytime, just logon with your UCC email address and password.

Share and Collaborate Easily

Google Drive has built in collaboration tools which allow multiple users to work on the same document, insert comments in the margins or just allow others to view your documents.  You can share any file you have on your Google Drive with UCC staff, students and/or external users.  By selecting the document and clicking on the share button, you can choose which users to share the file with.

Access to G Suite

Within Google Drive you can access Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides and Google Forms and allows you to create and edit documents online.  When working in G Suite all your work is automatically saved and you can return easily to any previous version.

Storage Space

15GB storage limit for all data in Google Drive, Gmail and Google Photos.
