Dr Rachel Murphy
Dr Rachel Murphy lectures on the MA History of Family at the University of Limerick. A graduate of the University of Oxford, she went on to complete an MA at the University of Limerick and a PhD at University College Cork.
Rachel is a social historian and her research focuses on nineteenth and early twentieth-century Irish history, in particular the history of family, landholding and urban history. She is interested in using digital tools and technologies in historical research and is currently employed as a Laureate Fellow on the Irish Research Council-funded Death and Burial Data: Ireland 1864-1922 project led by Dr Ciara Breathnach where she is using Geographical Information Systems (GIS) to map cause of death data.
