About me

About me

Hi, my name is Martina Di Renzo Buckley and I am a PhD candidate in Applied Psychology (UCC, Cork, Ireland).

I have started my psychology studies as a mature student. My main interests are Autism, communication strategies among humans, Dialogism, Social Psychology, Human Development and Cyberpsychology. These fields merge to become the main topic of my current research: the construction of identity.

I also have a background in IT, linguistics, critical theory and literature studies. Therefore I cannot help noticing the narrative component of human communication, especially Computer-Mediated Communication,

I am the parent of a child with Asperger Syndrome. Therefore I wish to position myself as a peer among the participants and I consider myself a sort of hybrid between the "neurotypical" and the "atypical" community. Reflexivity is a strong drive for my research. In fact, for everything I do.

In Search of a Common Language
