Microsoft Windows 7 End of Support – 14th January 2020
What does this mean for me?
On the 14th January 2020 Microsoft will end support for Windows 7. It means that security updates will no longer be available for Windows 7 from that date, leaving your device vulnerable to attacks. New applications will no longer be made for Windows 7, and some existing applications will stop working over time.
What do I do next?
If your computer is beyond a certain age, it may not be able to take the update to Windows 10 and should be replaced. To verify if you are running a supported Windows 10 computer check below for supported and unsupported devices.
Otherwise, if your machine can be upgraded, we will be contacting you directly to arrange a suitable time we will be working through each department.
What are the benefits of Windows 10?
- It works better with the Microsoft Office 365 Cloud Services.
- It is a more secure platform than Windows 7 and is less likely to crash or breakdown altogether.
- Your data will be backed up to the cloud, eliminating the risk of data loss.
Please note all new desktop and laptop computers ship with Windows 10 installed and 50% of staff already have a Windows 10 device.
