Start-Up Workshops Closing Date Weds 27 Sept 2017
Our Start-Up Workshops, run as a collaboration between IGNITE and Blackstone Launchpad at University College Cork and supported by Bank of Ireland, are designed to help anyone with a good business idea to develop a robust business model.
We are looking for people with passion currently working on scalable start-up ideas either full-time or part-time but with the ambition to work full-time on the idea in 2018.
Over 7 weeks we’ll work with you to build and refine a robust business model for your business.
Each week we’ll provide specific guidance on the steps you’ll take to develop your business model, provide an opportunity to present progress to experienced mentors and peers and work in small groups to address issues and overcome obstacles.
We’ll also have a guest speaker, an experienced entrepreneur, who’ll provide specific practical advice and guidance on important start-up topics such as networking, raising finance, building a team and more.
And there’ll be plenty of time for that all-important networking over refreshments!
This workshop is restricted to just 16 start-ups. Where there are two or more partners involved in the start-up, all partners are welcome to participate.
While the overall approach will be learning through fun and enjoyment, it is expected that all participants are committed to work on their start-up idea between workshops.
All participants will be have the opportunity to pitch their idea to an invited panel on the final evening and participants will be provided with specific recommendations on the next steps to develop their idea.
The best ideas will share in a cash prize fund to support the development of the business.
Participants who meet the criteria may be offered a place on the next IGNITE programme starting Spring 2018.
The workshops will kick off Tuesday 3rd October 2017 at 5.30pm in the Creative Zone, Boole Library, University College Cork and will run for 7 consecutive Tuesday evenings.
