IGNITE Start-Ups Shortlisted for Cork Chamber Emerging Company of the Year

Two IGNITE start-ups were announced among the three companies shortlisted for Cork Chamber Emerging Company of the Year 2017.

Pundit Arena is a sports media platform that empowers fans to become paid journalists. It is one of Europe’s fastest growing sports media websites, reaching millions of users, and currently employs 14 staff in Cork. The business was founded by UCC Graduates Richard Barrett and Ross O’Dwyer when they joined UCC’s IGNITE Programme in late 2013.

And Vconnecta uses mobile technology to capture and analyse data for political and community engagement applications. Vconnecta’s two products Ecanvasser and Voxcitio deliver world-class platforms for data collection by mobile app, providing organisations with the tools for understanding and communicating better with the communities they serve. The business was founded by UCC BSc (Business Information Systems) Graduate Brendan Finucane in 2012 and currently employs 10 staff in Cork.

The winners will be announced at the Cork Chamber Annual Dinner in Cork City Hall on 3rd February 2017.
