IGNITE 2012 alumnus Portable Medical Technologies Ltd achieves CE approval for their ONCOassist mobile app.

18 Dec 2012

Portable Medial Technologies become the 1st Irish company and only the 3rd company worldwide to achieve CE approval for a mobile app.

ONCOassist is an innovative smartphone and tablet application developed specifically for oncology healthcare professionals. The application contains all the prognostic tools and useful calculators that oncologists need at the point-of-care, freeing them from the need to conduct time consuming online searches and giving on the spot access to these important decision support tools.

CE approval means that ONCOassist is now classified as a "medical device" and can be used in a hospital to make clinical decisions.

Founders Kevin Bambury and Eoin O’Carroll have just returned after spending the past months in London on a Healthbox Accelerator programme, one of only seven companies selected from across Europe. They return to Western Gateway Building well positioned for future growth.
