If You Have a Great Start-Up Idea, Why Are You Waiting to Get Started!

That was the key message from the speakers at the IGNITE Graduate Business Innovation Programme Information Evening on Thursday 30th April 2015.

A capacity audience, including special guest, the Lord Mayor of Cork City, Cllr Mary Shields, was in attendance to hear three inspiring stories from three IGNITE start-ups.

KonnectAgain is a development of an original idea UrYearBook that Jayne co-founded with David Murray on IGNITE 2013. Richard Barrett and Ross O’Dwyer, arecofounders of Pundit Arena (, a sports media website. Richard and Ross met on IGNITE 2014 while working on similar ideas and joined forces to build PunditArena to a point where it now employs 6 staff .

And John Burke, of IGNITE 2015, is founder of Carster (, a website that allows consumers to search, select and book a car service that suits them.

Aodan Enright of SmarterEgg kept the discussion lively.

In a wide ranging discussion, the panellists spoke about the inspiration for their business ideas, what encouraged them to take the first steps, the highs and lows they have experienced to date, the support provided by IGNITE and their plans for the future.

Among the feedback from attendees immediately afterwards was:

“gushing with real honest positive energy.”
