AnaBio Technologies to Invest €200,000 in NPD Facility – Create 11 New Jobs
Biotech company Anabio Technologies Ltd has announced that it will invest €200,000 in a New Product Development facility at Teagasc’s Food Research Centre in Fermoy, Co. Cork and grow the workforce to 24 over the coming 12 months.
Founded in 2011, AnaBio has developed encapsulation technologies that allow food ingredients, animal foods and therapeutics to be delivered to specific areas of the body. Anabio currently has clients in the human nutrition and animal feed markets in Europe, the US and South America. The investment in the Teagasc facility will allow Anabio to develop further products for these markets.
Anabio Technologies Ltd was founded in 2011 by Teagasc/UCC PhD Graduate Sinead Bleiel (Doherty). Bleiel joined the IGNITE Graduate Business Innovation Programme in 2012, winning the IGNITE/Bank of Ireland Business of the Award a year later. Anabio went on to be named as Emerging Company of the Year by Cork Chamber of Commerce in 2014.
The company concluded an investment round involving Enterprise Ireland and private investors in late 2015 enabling Anabio to implement plans for further product development and job creation.
