IGNITE Programme - Starting Spring 2020

The twelve month business innovation programme at University College Cork, that nurtures, develops and strengthens entrepreneurial potential, is inviting applications from recent graduates from any discipline, from any third level institution in Ireland with a viable business idea with potential for commercial or social impact.

Since its inception in 2011, the Programme has supported 110+ founders that have applied a range of technologies in sectors such as food, pharma, health, finance, retail and media.

This year we are particularly interested in receiving applications from graduates with start-up ideas in the following sectors, Food and Agri Tech, Social Innovation, Business and Financial Services, Healthcare and Life Science, Energy and Marine.

Successful applicants will benefit from a comprehensive start-up support package including:

  • Workshops, seminars, guest speakers,
  • Experienced and accomplished mentors, coaches and consultants
  • Shared workspace in UCC’s Western Gateway Building
  • Seed funding and access to further funding opportunities
  • Access to UCC’s academic, research and commercialisation expertise
  • Regular networking events and access to key entrepreneur networks
  • Membership of Cork Chamber and IT@Cork

  • A passport type photo
  • A short description of your
    • Product or Service idea
    • Market Opportunity
    • Business Goals for the first 3 years
  • A brief explanation of how you’ll benefit from your participation on IGNITE
  • A short CV
  • The name, title and contact details of at least one individual such as a college lecturer or employer who is familiar with your work.

IGNITE Programme - Starting Autumn 2020

If you are interested in the IGNITE Programme commencing Autumn 2020, please submit an expression of interest form here.

Those with Expressions of Interest registered can avail of one to one mentoring, workshops and seminars to help develop the business idea, to submit a more comprehensive application and to be better prepared to make the most of the programme, if their application is successful.
