UCC Heroes: Yvonne Pennisi, Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy
Yvonne Pennisi was nominated by her colleagues, Eithne Hunt and Linda Horgan. They share:
“Yvonne used her experience of distance teaching and learning in higher education, in Australia, to support her colleagues to rapidly shift multi-component assessments (including staff and peer marking of group presentations) to online format as the campus closed in March 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She was generous with her time and expertise, and demonstrated true collegiality. With her assistance, the assessment of core Occupational Therapy year-one modules was completed within the original timeframe, and in such a way that any negative impact on students was minimised and stress levels of staff were reduced.”
Nominations can be made by any person with respect to an individual or team worthy of celebration as a UCC Hero or Heroes.
