Daniel Blackshields, Dept of Economics

In this new initiative, we honour those UCC Heroes who have made an exceptional, if hidden contribution to the university community, during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Next up, is Daniel Blackshields, Lecturer in Economics at Cork University Business School.

Daniel was nominated by Dr Aileen Murphy. Below, we find out why Daniel is so deserving of this acknowledgement.

“Daniel is a valued member of the Economics Department and wider UCC community in his various roles.

This year, in moving exams online and the significant impact on students and staff, Daniel’s extensive experience and commitment were invaluable. The support Daniel provided to students and his colleagues in the Department and across the university during this time was tremendous and greatly appreciated.

He always goes above and beyond the call of duty in terms of his dedication; always willing to lend a hand and give advice.”
