Project Librarian (6mth Contract)

Project Librarian (6mth fixted-term contract)
The successful candidate will work under the direction of the University Librarian and report to the Sub-Librarian.
The responsibilities may include:
- Establishment and validation of methodology
- Identification and review of existing consortia and related literature
- Specification of user needs
- Compilation and verification of information services required
- Compilation of chosen titles and publisher “bundles”
- Formulation of model licence agreement
- Supervision of subscription agent to negotiate with publishers
- User set-up and support
- Monitoring analysis and benchmarking of service
- Assessment of scalability to national level
- Production of the final public domain report
- Other appropriate duties as assigned by the Librarian
Applicants must be graduates and hold, or be about to obtain a recognised qualification in Library and Information Studies. A high level of competence in IT based applications, knowledge of library and/or other information environments and a high level of interpersonal and communication skills including customer services skills are also required. The successful candidate will have the ability to work on their own initiative and in teams, influencing and responding to the changing information environment.
Salary scales: Within the ranges €40,237 - €50,004 or €47,809 - €57,429 (new entrants) depending on qualifications and experience.
