Funding for International Students

The CACSSS Graduate School is pleased to announce two new incentives for non-EU students to choose UCC for their postgraduate studies (see details).

  1. 25% fee discount for non-EU UCC graduates with a minimum 2H2 progressing to a taught Masters programme in CACSSS. This will be of interest (for example) to North American students who spent their Junior Year Abroad at UCC and would like to return for a postgrad. http://www.ucc.ie/en/cacsss/grads/facilities/funding/discounts-international/

  1. Boole International Doctoral Scholarships in the Humanities and Social Sciences. This scheme replaces the previous non-EU PhD fee waiver, and provides funding of 50% towards the non-EU doctoral fee of €11,540, i.e. fees will be reduced to €5,770 per annum. Applications are now open for these scholarships and must be submitted before the student first registers for the programme. The eligibility criteria are as follows:
  • Liable for non-EU fees
  • Minimum 2H1 (or equivalent) in first or subsequent degree
  • Self-funded (i.e. not funded by any other organisation, government or scholarship scheme)

Boole scholarship applications will be submitted to the CACSSS Graduate School, who will forward them to the Head (or nominee) of the relevant School/Department for approval. Decisions will be returned to the Graduate School who will notify the applicant and the fees office. Applicants deemed to be of high academic calibre and who meet the eligibility criteria below will be awarded the scholarship, which is tenable for 3 years (except where the minimum registration period is 4 years, e.g. thematic doctoral programmes).
