“The U.S. Presidential Election”

The aim of this event is to facilitate open, informed discussion about the U.S. Presidential election (the candidates, their platforms, what is at stake politically in the election for the United States and wider world, the relationship of the campaign to broader social and cultural forces in the United States and globally, etc.) at what is a crucial point in the contest, approximately one month prior to election day. The format will be as follows: a series of short presentations by the speakers, followed by questions from the chair, followed by open Q&A and moderated discussion.
