(RE)CREATION MARKET
Theatre Lab, Connolly Complex, UCC
Sunday 10th, 12.00 - 16.00
Admission Free
Through Rebound Arts Festival’s offering of a craft fair, (Re)creation Market, we seek to promote the return to creativity through the provision of arts and crafts in the heart of the city. As a craft fair, this event is committed to contributing to respect for the environment and diversity of cultural craft-making expertise that exists in Cork City.
(Re)creation Market offers a platform for showcasing local produce and sharing artisanal and artistic know-how through craft stalls based on the core principle of repurposing. Market-goers and creators will be brought together in a space where they can gather, discuss and engage with various creative practices.
COLLECTIVE COLLABORATION
plugd records, Cornmarket Street
Sunday 10th, 12:00 - 17:00
Admission Free
Please bring your headphones and mobile phone for this event.
Collective Collaboration is an installation and digital art project with an emphasis on interpretation. Two artists, Alex Gough and Jack Corrigan, come together to create separate works of video and music, unaware of the other's work, both inspired by a single point of reference. At the physical exhibition, observers are invited to contribute their own interpretations, collaboratively creating a third, accompanying work. In this way, Collective Collaboration is an exercise in collectively finishing a work of art over the course of a festival. Submissions from the audience will be exhibited alongside the finished film online once the festival is over, bringing the full work to a close, joined by interviews and extra content featuring the artists.

Gamma Ray is an event that aims to capture the cultural diversity of Irish society through an Afro dance workshop. Involving collaboration with professional choreographers from the black community like Kareen Salcede, and the exclusive participation of Cork City Samba Band, the audience will be invited to embrace concepts such as celebration, diversity and interculturality through the invigoration of dance. Gamma Ray is described as a socio-educational experience where collective creativity is channelled through dance energy, overstepping boundaries of insecurity, detachment and celebrating cultural differences.

Massive Chats is a once off podcast that invites you to hear from some of Cork’s most experienced and respected youth arts facilitators. This podcast primarily focuses on a range of youth arts; from dance, visual arts, theatre and music and their affect on young people. The podcast will explore how young people relied on the arts as a tool for social integration and as an outlet for personal expression during the pandemic. It will also address the barriers of accessibility to the arts and look at the current opportunities for LGBTQ in youth arts. This podcast aims to promote reflection from listeners and hopes to inspire more young people to enter the world of the arts.
