Music welcomes newest colleagues Emily Gale and Warrick Moses!
Dr. Emily Gale is our new Lecturer in Popular Music Studies and her research explores intersections between sentimentalism, gender, class, and race -- it's titled: Sentimental Songs for Sentimental People. She's teaching on the MA programs now and will start on undergrad popular music courses in the fall. More on Emily here:
Dr. Warrick Moses is our new Postdoctoral Fellow in Hip Hop Studies with the CIPHER team and his research explores expressions of expressions of “mixed race” or “coloured” socio-political, linguistic, and cultural identity in Cape Town-based hiphop music. He's co-teaching the Planet Rap course and will be doing fieldwork for the CIPHER project in Africa. More on Warrick and some of the other incoming CIPHER team members here:
