Flip the Script: European Hip Hop and the Politics of Postcoloniality, wins Ruth Stone Prize from the Society for Ethnomusicology.

UCC Music is proud to announce that Professor Griff Rollefson's book, Flip the Script: European Hip Hop and the Politics of Postcoloniality, has been announced as the inaugural recipient of the Ruth Stone Prize from the Society for Ethnomusicology. The Stone Prize “recognizes the most distinguished English-language monograph in the field of ethnomusicology, published as the author’s first monograph.”
The award was presented at the annual conference of the SEM at Indiana University this November. The prize committee consisted of Sarah Weiss (Graz), Patricia Campbell (Washington), Alex Chávez (Notre Dame), and Ingrid Monson (Harvard).
Congrats also to Rollefson's co-recipient, Denise Gill of Stanford University.
