Now in its 10th year, the Festival has proven to be enormously successful in attracting the support of some of the leading talent of the film world, both national and international, while still retaining the democratic feel of a community event, in a village that doesn’t have a cinema!

Film and Screen Media is delighted to announce that its staff, students and former holders of the UCC/Arts Council Film Artist in Residence scheme will be represented in this year’s Festival

Friday 25th May @ 2pm: A showcase of short films directed by students on the BA in Film and Screen Media

Saturday 26th May @ 11am: A celebration/roundtable discussion on “Screenwriting: The Art vs. the Craft”, with Carmel Winters, Gerry Stembridge, Hugh Travers and Barry Monahan (UCC)

Saturday 26th May @ 1pm: “Battle of the Sexes”: A discussion on gender politics and the Film Industry with producers David Puttnam and Sandy Lieberson, and Gwenda Young (UCC)

Saturday 26th May @ 2.30: Premiere of “Movie Memories”, a short documentary about going to the cinema in rural Cork, directed & produced by Dan O’Connell and Gwenda Young (UCC). Followed by a wine reception and celebration!
