100 Years of General Relativity
Commemorating the 100th anniversary for the discovery of General Relativity by Albert Einstein.
The talk will focus on explaining the basic concepts of general relativity, and discuss some of its implications on the 20th century physics and cosmology. Dr. Pe'er will explain the connection between gravity and geometry as formulated in Einstein’s field equation. He will try to explain basic concepts such as “black holes”, “big bang” and others, which follow from this theory.
