Know Offence Pamphlet Launch
Launch night of the Know Offence campaign pamphlet which aspires to help students affected by sexual violence. The event will be held at 6.30pm on the 23rd of March in UCC Council Chambers.
A recent survey of UCC students found that 15% of students have experienced a non-consensual sexual experience and over one-third have experienced unwanted physical contact in a university setting. 82% of students do not know where or how to report a sexual offence to university authorities. With this in mind Know Offence was formed. This campaign aspires to help students affected by sexual violence. We're launching our information pamphlet on Monday the 23rd of March at 6.30pm in the UCC Council Chambers, with a wine and cheese reception followed by a panel discussion lead by Dr. Catherine O'Sullivan. Dr. O'Sullivan lectures in law here at UCC. Her main research interests lie in the following areas: Criminal Law; Criminology; Gender and the Law; and Law and Literature. She is co-author of the seminal Irish text book on Criminal Law (Criminal Law in Ireland: Cases and Commentary) and has published extensively on the law of sexual offences in Ireland. Looking forward to seeing you there!
