Cork Cycle Around the Globe WSPD 2015

On Friday September 11th at 1pm the Cork Cycle Around the Globe (8-10K) will take place in support of World Suicide Prevention Day 2015.

This activity is all about the global community spreading awareness of the importance of suicide prevention. The challenge of the annual Cycle Around the Globe is to collectively cycle the circumference of the globe, 40,075 km or 24,900 miles, and to have participants cycling on every continent. This is the second annual Cycle Around the Globe event taking place in Cork. Last year, individuals and organisations across the world cycled, and in some cases walked, to raise suicide prevention awareness on World Suicide Prevention Day.

The total distances reached was almost four times the circumference of the planet or a total of 121,963.3 miles or 196,282 kilometers! This year, at 1pm on Friday September 11th the Cork Cycle Around the Globe will take place. This will be an 8-10 kilometer cycle, leaving from the Western Gateway Building on Western Road, Cork! In advance of your participation please RSVP Caroline Daly at CarolineDaly@ucc.ie or via telephone on 021 4205551 before the event day.
