Digital Champions Day
A day celebrating the 46 Digital Champions that took part in a project entitled Transformation Through Collaboration. Guest speaker: Cambridge Professor John Naughton.
Digital Champions Day is a day celebrating and awarding the achievements of the 46 Digital Champions involved in the Transformation Through Collaboration project. Hosted by University College Cork, the Digital Champions will get a chance to present their project and explain how it has impacted on their teaching. From apps, to robotics and through to zoology, we can expect a fantastic variety of presentations by our champions on the day. Cambridge Professor John Naughton will be our guest speaker for Digital Champions Day. John is an academic and journalist with a passion for education and understanding, particularly when it comes to the use of technology. He is therefore a perfect speaker for an event such as ours, celebrating the use of technology in education. John is an active columnist, blogger and author and we are delighted that he can speak at our event. The day starts at 10:30 in Devere Hall with a welcome reception. The speakers will begin at 11:00 with an opening address from Professor John O’Halloran, the Vice President for Teaching and Learning here at UCC, followed by our guest speaker Professor John Naughton. Each participating institute will then get a chance to present the projects carried out by their own Digital Champions, and the event will be rounded off with each Champion being awarded with a Digital Badge, signifying their successful completion of the project.
