Cork Climate Action Political Forum
Political forum on Ireland's response to Climate Change. Confirmed panelists include Michael Martin and Eamonn Ryan. Aine Ryall, School of Law will act as academic rapporteur to close the forum.Cork Climate Action are organising a political forum on 6th November 2017, in Boole 3 in UCC, to continue the dialogue about Ireland's National Mitigation Plan and about Ireland's response to Climate Change generally. Currently confirmed panelists are Mícheál Martin TD, Eamon Ryan TD, Mick Barry TD and Sen Tim Lombard. Aine Ryall, School of Law, UCC will speak as an academic rapporteur to close the forum. The group was set up in advance of the COP21 Climate Change summit in Paris in November 2015. It is a coalition of non-governmental organisations working together to address climate change. It organises events at local level in support of national and global actions and to ensure that Ireland delivers on its national and international obligations to reduce our contribution to climate change. Current members include: Cork Environmental Forum, Social and Health Education Project (SHEP), Trócaire, UCC Green Campus, UCC Environmental Society. There will be two set questions to the panel on the night, however the remainder of the time will be open to members of the public to ask questions. The evening will begin at 7pm, and we look forward to seeing you there.
