CARL@50 - Celebrating our 50th student-community project
Community Academic Research Links (CARL) is celebrating an important milestone on December 5th with the beginning of its 50th student-community project.
The focus of the CARL@50 event is to grow the network of community organisations that CARL (and UCC) partners with, to celebrate reaching this milestone and to highlight the significance of these projects to date. The event will include a keynote address from Madge Fogarty from Postnatal Depression Ireland to highlight the benefits and impact of these collaborative endeavours. Three awards for Outstanding Community Engagement projects will also be presented to students whose projects were deemed exceptional by the selection committee. We particularly encourage community representatives to attend as CARL wants to recognise the support of our past and current community partners, and seek opportunities and inspire attendees about future prospects. Light refreshments in the form of mince pies and mulled wine will be on offer and all community and voluntary organisations attending will be entered into a prize draw for a wonderful Christmas hamper from On the Pig's Back. The event takes place on Monday, December 5th in the Aula Maxima on the main UCC campus from 4.30-6pm, and please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org.
