Public Lectures and Seminars

UCC Mathematics Enrichment

Our classes offer students a wider perspective on Mathematics, and develop problem solving skills in an environment centred on the enjoyment of investigation and discovery.

The UCC Mathematics Enrichment classes are open to all secondary school students who show an interest in mathematics. Our Junior, Intermediate and Senior programmes aim to offer students a wider perspective on Mathematics and its role in life and society, while developing their problem solving skills in an environment centred on the enjoyment of investigation and discovery, among like-minded peers. In recent years, this has led our students to increased success in progressing on to STEM undergraduate programmes in UCC, Oxford, Cambridge, ICL, TCD, Maynooth, CIT and elsewhere, as well as in participation in international competitions like the International Mathematical Olympiad and the European Girls Mathematical Olympiad, with two honourable mentions, a Bronze and a Silver medal won by our Cork students in 2016.
