Great Science, Comes Great Responsibility - Ria O’Sullivan-Lago, Education, Public Engagement & Communications manager, INFANTis Education, Public Engagement & Communications manager at the Irish Centre for Fetal and Neonatal Translational Research (INFANT). She provides support to the research teams in order to raise public awareness and understanding of their cutting edge research and engage with the wider community to promote careers in science and expand Ireland's science capital. Ria leads the communications programme at INFANT, including management of the INFANT website, social media platforms, media relations and branding. Ria has a PhD in social psychology from Oxford Brookes University and has delivered education programmes in the community since 2002, and began designing and delivering science education programmes for teachers, students and the public in 2011. Moving to INFANT in 2015, Ria has worked with the researchers to develop the education and communication programmes based on their research, delivering training and facilitating their outreach to the community, particularly with the public, and workshops with young children, primary school students, and second level students.
