Career Pathways Seminar: An Alternative Research Career: Research Administration

Louise is a Research Officer at Research Support Services in the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation. Previously she was project manager for the ERASMUS Biodesign for Health Applications (Bio-App) project. She also worked as Course Coordinator and College Lecturer at the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health and as Continuous Professional Development Coordinator at the Department of General Practice. Louise has a PhD in Epidemiology and Public Health, an MSc in Marketing and a BA in Applied Psychology. She also has a postgraduate Diploma and a Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. On completion of her PhD in 2006 Louise worked as a postdoctoral researcher for the Neonatal Brain Research Group at UCC and as a College Lecturer at the School of Medicine. Before returning to academia Louise worked as Enterprise Development Officer for the EU LEADER II Programme in Kilkenny, Ireland, and as a Graduate Bank Official at the Sales and Marketing Unit, Allied Irish Banks, Dublin.
