Health Economic Evaluation Workshop

Workshops on Economic Evaluations, Health Technology Assessment and Decision Analytical Modelling delivered by Dr Ann Kirby and Dr Aileen Murphy, Health Economics Group at School of Economics, University College Cork.

These workshops will be delivered over four sessions starting on Friday the 31st of October (9.00-17.00) in the School of Economics, Aras na Laoi, University College Cork.

2. Costing for Economic Evaluations – Fri 21st Nov 2014

3. Measuring Health Outcomes for Economic Evaluations – Fri 12th and Mon 15th Dec 2014

4. Introduction to Decision Analytical Modelling for Economic Evaluations – Thurs 8th and Fri 9th Jan 2015 The primary focus of the workshops is on providing candidates with a theoretical and practical understanding of the policy and principles which underpin economic evaluations while also guiding them through the process of completing an economic evaluation/health technology assessment.

The key elements of these workshops include; An Introduction to Health Economic Evaluations, Costing an Economic Evaluation, Measuring Health Outcomes and an Introduction to Decision Analytical Modelling.

The workshops will examine the main issues and methods associated with costing and measuring health outcomes for economic evaluations where, participants will learn how the process of conducting a health economic evaluation particularly if all four sessions are attended. This course will appeal to researchers and health care professionals who are interested in gaining an understanding of the health economic evaluation process.

Presenters Dr. Aileen Murphy & Dr. Ann Kirby have over ten years combined experience of teaching Health Economics to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, and have successfully published in this area. Each workshop costs between €100 and €200 for the day although it is only €550 for students and UCC staff members if all four workshops are attended.
